Chuck...I think that I have this picture figured out. I enlarged the pic as much as possible and it looks similar to the Detroit logo on the front of the uniform. Also, there is bunting on the walls so it is definitely a World Series game or an opening day game.

The number of the pitcher works out because Bobo Newsom pitched in both the first game and the seventh game of the 1940 World Series. If so that is Charlie Gehringer at second base for the Tigers and I have no clue as to who the runner is coming from first.
