The Reds, having won the National League Pennant, went on to face the Yankees in the World Series. The result was a four game sweep by the Yanks, their second such in a row. The Reds would come back to face the Detroit Tigers in 1940, and take home a World Series Victory with a 2-1 victory in Game 7!
